Locating Resources

There are two main places to access information and conduct research for Union-PSCE at Charlotte students--Morton Library and Everett Library.  Look below for a link to each library and to see what each offers.  To use Morton Library resources you will need your Union e-mail passwords and to use Everett Library resources you will need the password card passed out at the beginning of the semester or they are available at the currculation desk.  Of course, you do not need passwords to use the electronic catalog for either library.  Below is a brief list of common resources associated with each library.

  • Morton Library
    Database Tutorials
    Online Databases
    *ATLA-RDB
*iPreach: Bible Study and Worship Resources
    *Many other databases
    *Metalib (multi-database search)
  • Everett Library
    Go to Everett Library website
    Click "Library Services"
Click "Union-PSCE at Charlotte" to find:
*EBSCO A-Z (similar to Journal Finder)
    *Biblical and Theological LibGuide
    *World Cat
    *Consortium Information
    *Web Resources by David Mayo

New Printing System

Everett Library is now using a print management system.  Union students are able to copy and print but you will need to ask for a print card from the circulation desk.  Currently, there is no charge for copying or printing.

Welcome to Everett Library

Welcome to Everett Library's Bible and Theology libguide.  I begin with a tab that has resources to help seminary students work on a Bible Exegesis paper.  By selecting the tab above (next to the Welcome tab), you can access the catalog record to many of the resources at the library that are needed for a Bible exegesis.  I have also added additional tabs to help students with other areas of academic work and library resources.  The "Research and Writing Style" page lists resources that help students with academic research, skillful writing, and properly citing sources.  The "Quick Reference to OT and NT Library Resources" is a basic outline of the resources that are available to our students and where to find them.  With two libraries it can be a challenge to remember which one has what materials.  The "Quick Reference" page provides students with a place to go to remember how to access resources.

What's New

1)  iPreach has been moved to Morton Library and is located under "Online Databases" as iPreach: Bible study and worship resources.  It is the same resource as before and is very helpful in providing full text Bible commentaries, theological dictionaries, and several worship aids.

2)  Everett Library has changed Journal Finder to EBSCO A-Z.  It is similar to Journal Finder but is much easier to use.  Just remember that to search by title and not by keyword.  Also you will need the EBSCO password to access it off of campus.  Call 704.337.2401 if you need help.
