Evaluating Information

Importance of Evaluating Information

You may wonder why it is important to evaluate library resources. In an academic setting, research plays a central role. It is a process through which you are developing your own thoughts and through which you are defining yourself in the world.

In different classes, you will be asked to do research. You will be asked to define the scope of your research and find resources and sources. You will have to analyze the information. You will have to compare and question the information you found and defend a thesis and build a demonstration.

As librarians, it is important for us to help you evaluate library resources so that you can become autonomous and successful in the completion of your research.
