Neighborhood Activities

Melissa Gamez shares that her neighborhood has been meeting for social distancing "happy hour" at 5:30 on Fridays.

"We all bring our lawn chairs and a beverage to the curb and sit in our driveways and celebrate making it through another week. Being outside in the fresh (pollen-filled air) and seeing actual faces is invigorating - even if we have to shout a little to hear each other."

In Sherrill Shiraz's neighborhood a neighbor dressed up like the Easter Bunny and rode around the neighborhood on Saturday before Easter to greet families by their driveways. It was great fun.

How We Feel

Margo Leighliter shared the following,

I know this is such an unusual time; I feel joy at taking a break from the distraction of life, I feel guilt for feeling joy, guilt for not being on the front lines, joy when I see families spending more time together; and then sadness at the loss of life and financial insecurities, and then thankful for my many blessings.  So much to process.
