The most common questions you will get while manning the front desk are related to printing.
All students get $21 on their queens account every semester. This equals 300 black and white prints per semester. Black and white prints cost 7 cents and color prints cost 21 cents each.

In order to print from your laptop, you will need to install the Follow-Me-Printer on your machine.

Yes. Here are the directions to print from an Apple device and an Android device.
If you are printing from a printer in the library, you will use your Q-Card (Queens ID) to pay for printing. Each semester, $21 is loaded on to your Q-Card for printing purposes. Black and white prints and copies cost 7¢ per side. Color prints and copies cost 21¢ per side.
Color printing is available in Everett Library. To print in color, click print on your computer and change the printer properties to print in color. Visit the FAQ for more detailed instructions.
Students receive $21 on their Queens ID for printing costs each semester. If you need to add more money to your print card, visit the Copy and Service Center in the basement of Trexler.

Print jobs sent to the printer are available for 24 hours to pick up. After 24 hours, you will need to send the job to the printer again.

Yes, you can! To use your flash drive or USB stick, plug the device into one of the USB ports on the back of the computer monitor. In order for this to work, you must plug in the device BEFORE you log on to the computer. Plug in the device, log on, and pull up your document.

* Make sure the patron is correctly logged in to the library computer. The person logged in must be the same as the person on the qcard. They may believe they are logged in but they may have sat down where someone else had logged in. Go to the windows icon and then to change account settings to verify if that person is logged in to the computer.
* Check the number of pages in the document. Students are not allowed to print more than 50 pages at a time. Have them try printing 1-40 and then 41-80 for example. Break up the number of pages into smaller groups.
* The follow-me-printer may not be selected for the print job.
* If printing from their laptop, it may say hold for authentication, that means something is wrong with their password in their setup. They need to change the user ID and password to their correct Queens User id and password. They may need to ask IT for help with this.
