Best Practices are a series of guidelines used to complete certain tasks or reach certain goals in the most ethical and efficient ways.
During your shift at the library, you should assume that you have been "stationed" at the front desk unless otherwise directed. If you need to leave the front desk in order to assist a patron elsewhere in the library, be sure to inform your partner for that shift (there should be two student worker library assistants stationed at the front desk every hour/shift). If you should have to leave the library for any reason please be sure to inform a librarian, preferably the Access Services Librarian.
